As some of you know in the Late 1990s I owned and operated a mobile PA system, it was a 1K system with a pair of enormous peavey loudspeakers We kicked off with the name "Mad Steve's PA Squad" and changed around 1997 to "Source Sound". I sold the stuff after about 5 years because the sheer stress of putting bands on was causing me ill health as well as I started to have hearing problems with tinnatus, preventing me from getting good sleep. Another reason for packing it in was I was sick of making other (often very crap) musicians sound good and I wanted to play in bands again myself, especially as I was now armed with some serious experience about live sound and had totally confirmed many ideas about how a band should set up its equipment. During the time when I was operating at full swing, I had 3 residencies in 3 different cities, and I also did extra one off jobs. Anyhow once you have had the great pleasure of owning gear like that you find yourself spoiled, and with something missing, when you give it all up and sell the stuff. With this "soundman" ache in my chest I started buying PA gear again last December, and After helping Dogfuck out with a bit of a sound system on Sunday, I felt that I needed to make sure that If I was asked to help them out again it would be so much better. I have just made a purchase of further equipment which would enable me to do a fucking loud live band sound again. It strikes me that it is 10 years ago since I last ventured into the PA world. God help me
