Mine has to be Berlin to see Rammstein last year.
I went to the goth Eurorock festival in Belgium in 2000, but that wasn't to see any particular band, that was just to get twatted for the weekend, absorb the atmos and annoy as many goths in 4 days as is humanly possible.
Nailbag and myself had originally planned to go to California in October to see cockSParrer, but then we decided we couldn't afford it and it got cancelled anyway. Phew.
Anybody else put in the air miles and ignored their glowing red bank statement in order to see a band that they love?
Matt.

I have seen a band in Prague which was fantastic but we came upon a gig in the back of a rock bar by accident, so I didn't fly there on purpose to see them.
However In march I am due to fly to Hungary to see Depeche Mode! Not my favourite band, but I am accompanying someone who likes them and all the other tickets were sold out this was the only place left in the whole of Europe, { apparently they don't play very often }. But still I will take in the concert and thoughroly enjoy the weekend in Budapest which will be the immediate spin off.

I've seen Iggy Pop in Bordeaux.
But as I was there for the year anyway I dare say that doesn't count either.

Is Wakefield further than Worksop or are they both the same snooty nightgown?

Wakefield's further. It's our Tour of Japan compared to Worksop's Tour of Scandinavia.

Worksop is not far, just a 20 minute run on the bike, but wakefield is up near leeds ( Yeuch! )
However on the plus side Wakefield IS in yorkshire, but non of you lot would care much about that anyway being "aart 'o tanes"

So in fact you didn't actually go to Bordeaux to see them. You were living in Bordeaux when they played there. That's like me claiming I came to Sheffield via Stoke On Trent to see Dead Pets, Business, Section 5 etc...
...which would be bollocks...
...imagine me talking bollocks...
...hard isn't it?

Even more complicated than that. We are going to hungary on monday to see Depeche mode but it is sold out and we didn't get the tickets and the agency who offered us the tickets never had them, in the first place, or as it turns out were ever likely to have them!. So does it count "how far you have been specifically to see a gig" if you don't get to see it. I can assure you that the single reason for this trip and the outlay of around £520 between us so far is purely to see this concert, although we enjoy visiting these european city destinations and the trip will not be wasted. Hopefully there may be some rock band playing in town on tuesday night instead..

It certainly counts more than Toe's cliam to have "gone to Bordeaux" to see whoever it was he happened to see while he lived there. Going to see, but not actually seeing, might even count in the category of most fuckwitted reason for missing a gig as well, even if the fuckwittery is someone else's than yours.
Well done Muddy!

Muddy wins the 2-for-1 prize for Furthest and Most fuckwitted, it's agreed.
Should we put together some kind of statuette for him?
