Been quite a bit of activity recently so here's a summary (new ones in bold): - 30 Jan - Dove and Rainbow
- 17 Feb - Moorfoot Tavern, with the Arguments
- 26 Feb - Grapes, with Wounded Marsupial
- 17 March - Moorfoot, with Utd Kingdom of America
- 28 March - Dove and Rainbow, with Axminster Scotchguard And The Numbskulls
- 25 April - Under The Boardwalk, supporting Reel Fool
- 16 June - Corporation, supporting Argy Bargy
We have now been offered another gig at the Corporation, Thursday 21 June, with Incorporeal and a band called The Butterfly from Leeds. I'm of the opinion that we should never turn down a gig, especially at the Corp, but I thought I'd check opinions before definitely accepting this slot. Especially as the Argy Bargy gig is not one we'll be hugely pressurising our mates to come to as there's a band on some people will actually like We can therefore save the emotional blackmail for the gig a few days later! So, who's up for 2 Corp gigs in one week? ;D

I agree, there ought to be compelling reasons for declining a gig. Two in one week is lightweight...have you forgotten the halcion days of the Zombie Trousers Tour?

A message from the owner of the Dove and Rainbow: can we bring as many friends as we can? I'll be bringing, erm, about 3.
This is what he says about setting up and playing:
"Anytime from 6.30 on Tuesday, the area will be clear after this time. We have a vocal PA, 2 mic stands, 3 mics, monitor amp and stage monitor speakers. Pretty basic.....feel free to bring your own stuff if you like, most bands prefer their own mics and personal items and not the house provided stuff......(cheap!) Our sound engineer Keith will sort out all stuff with you, sound checks, etc...
Bands usually play from around 9.15-9.30 and usually do about 45 minutes to up to 90 minute sets....its up to you......all live music MUST be finished by 11.30pm and we close the bar at Midnight......"
Hmm, still not possible to go to the Blades game then play our set... bugger.

Bish was on about going on later so that Murch and other blades could do both. It's only a suggestion and I know nothing about devoted football fandom so feel free to tell this is preposterous: Why don't you sound check, watch most of the game and nip off early for a soon after 9.30 start?

16th June, Corporation, supporting Argy Bargy. That's not actually a gig that we have booked, more what you might call a rumour. And I've got it in my diary for 25th April for some reason.

25th April is Under The Boardwalk gig: a Seaweed Biscuit Promotions gig supporting Reel Fool. Nailbag was adamant on his text that we WERE supporting Argy Bargy, but if you're suggesting it's nowhere near official we'd best pull it from the Myspace site.
As for going to the game: I'll think about it :-)

Latest update: we can't do the Corp gig on 21st June as Mucous is in Newquay then and can't get back for t'gig. According to Lord Nailbag of Trafford, the 16th June gig is a definite, but Argy Bargy not confirmed as headliners yet.

Do people know that March 17th, when we play our next gig, is a date of some significance and a cause for celebration for millions?
That's right, because as you all know, March 17th is the day that the elastic band was invented in 1845.

New gig dates that have been confirmed.
29th September at Moorfoot Tavern supported by the late eighties 15th December also at the Moorfoot not confirmed a support yet so any suggestions would be good.
I've got a few irons in the fire for others so watch this space.

Hey Muddy,
I think we all enjoyed ourselves too, and there's a new band to make friends with. Thanks for the pictures, I got them no problem, I know where to look for them now so there's no problem. They'll be mashed into the website soon enough. Cheers matey!
